Practice on the Stairs

In an effort to have my daughters or students play something many times, I often resort to practicing on the stairs.

Starting at the top (or bottom - it really doesn't matter), they play through the section that needs repetition. Then they move to a different stair and do it again, etc.

How do you know how many stairs to move? Be creative!
  • Have a sibling call out a number
  • Roll a die
  • Start with 1, then 2, then 3, etc.
  • Have your child / student choose
  • Go one stair at a time
When my girls get to the bottom, I often let them play whatever they want.
